Special Optics Laser Beam Attenuators are non-absorbing air-spaced
devices that utilize a zero-order 1/2 wave retarder and a Glan-laser
polarizer mounted in a calibrated dual rotary stage. The base to
optical centerline distance is 34.9mm. As the waveplate is rotated,
the attenuation varies continuously. The range of attenuation is,
of course, dependent on the degree of the laser's linear polarization.
When attenuation of 50 db is required, special models with two or
three polarizers in a series are available.
